AMPT
(Advanced Mineral Performance Technology)
Mineral Nutrition impacts beef cattle's growth, reproduction and health. It's more than just salt. AMPT (Advanced Mineral Performance Technology) beef minerals are targeted mineral supplements that provide only the minerals and vitamins in the optimum amounts and ratios that benefit cattle. AMPT's distinctive mineral sources were selected based on achieving precision, balance, and the ability to deliver the best mineral nutrition in a 4 oz per head per day consumption rate.
AMPT is the best Mineral Nutrition. Why?
AMPT doesn't duplicate what's already supplied in forage
AMPT only supplies what cattle need
AMPT includes highly bioavailable mineral sources
Those mineral sources don't interact with other biological substances
AMPT provides critical minerals that bypass the rumen
AMPT supplies the needed minerals in the right amounts and ratios
AMPT is what beef cattle need ... nothing more, nothing less. Join the revolution of precise mineral supplementation.
AMPT makes it easy to give your cattle only what they need in a four ounce per day package.

It is an ideal mineral product to use before/after calving, during the breeding season, or during any stressful situation.
|
![]() | AMPT-T This solid, versatile product is the AMPT product of choice when a producer only wants to use one mineral year-round. AMPT-T is the preferred product optimizing economics and performance for a majority of the grazing season. Additional nutrient fortification includes natural-source vitamin E** and a botanical extract which may enhance stress resistance and rumen function. A low salt formula and the highly popular Endo-Fighter® options are available in AMPT-T. Endo-Fighter, and ADM exclusive, offers a beneficial, natural-solution to counter the effects of fescue toxicosis. |
What beef cattle need; nothing more, nothing less.
Here's what you'll see or won't see with AMPT:
No potassium because typical forages supple ample amounts of potassium.
Closely aligned calcium and phosphorus content; just enough to balance forage deficiencies with cattle needs without waste, especially since phosphorus is an environmental concern.
Trace minerals package that ensures optimized amounts of minerals are absorbed as cost-effectively as possible. The use of rumen bypass, hydroxy forms of copper, zinc and manganese with high bioavailabilities allows for better absorption. Plus these mineral sources avoid potential negative interactions. (See Figure 1 below)
Salt in the right amounts to meet needs and control consumption ... it's a balancing act.
A more available source of magnesium (magnesium carbonate) with a huge perk that it's highly palatable; no more trying to mask the taste of traditional magnesium source.
A patented* source of cobalt provides rumen microbes with the cobalt needed for efficient fiber digestion. And, since forage is the base for grazing beef cattle diets, enhancing forage utilization just makes economic sense.
Balanced amounts and ratios of minerals. Because there are many interactions among minerals ... too much of a good thing (specific mineral), just might create a deficiency of another mineral.
The AMPT Pay Back
You don't feed minerals and expect nothing in return. You expect better gains, body condition, and reproductive efficiency (conception rates). And, that's not all, you want healthy cattle. You also want cattle to efficiently utilize forages. The production returns for adequate and effective mineral supplementation far outweigh the cost. For instance, in stocker cattle an average increase of 0.1 lb ADG due to mineral supplementation will overcome a $6 per bag price difference and still provide a 3:1 ROI. While cost will always be an important factor dictating mineral supplement selection, the "cheapest" product doesn't mean it will provide the greatest economical return.
AMPT mineral products offer more than just mineral in a bag. Its value goes beyond the bag into the feeder and on to your bottom line!
MasterGain Range Minerals with WeatherMaster - Provides value that goes beyond the bag into the feeder and onto your bottom line.
Predictable, consistent 3-4 oz/hd/day consumption rate.
Incorporates WeatherMaster, a patent-pending process, to eliminate mineral losses due to moisture and enhance mineral uniformity, yielding a product that withstands rain and wind while ensuring cattle get what they need when they need it, rain or shine, in every bite. Look for the WeatherMaster seal on mineral products from ADM Alliance Nutrition.
Supplies essential macro and micro minerals, which enables cattle to achieve better growth rates, greater milk production (better weaning weights), and better reproductive status.
Encourages maximum rumen microbial activity for improved forage intake and more efficient utilization of forage (better forage digestibility and energy utilization), which positively affects cow body condition and growth rate.
Supplies vitamins to ensure vitamin needs are met for proper function of metabolic, reproductive, and immune systems.
You choose the mineral formulation. Because grazing conditions vary from season to season and among geographic locations, ADM Alliance Nutrition offers an extensive line-up of MasterGain Range Minerals with WeatherMaster options. And, because horn flies are the number one pest of pastured cattle and can cause serious economic losses, we offer time-tested IGR (methoprene, insect growth regulator) in MasterGain Range Minerals with WeatherMaster. Endo-Fighter, a counter tactic for combating problems associated with cattle grazing fescue, is also available in MasterGain Range Minerals with WeatherMaster. Medicated options are also available.

What is a Mintrate® XL Tub?
An exclusive 250 lb self -fed tub supplement designed to provide crude protein, scientifically formulated base and trace minerals, plus Vitamin A, D, and E, to cattle on pasture or high roughage rations. The crude protein is supplied from either Alliance Nutrition exclusive product Biuret, distillers grains, condensed distillers solubles, multiple source oil meals, and low level of urea. Mintrate XL Tubs have ingredients which promote maximum forage intake and digestibility.
Why Use Biuret?
Protein is one of the most expensive nutrients to supplement in the diet. Protein from nonprotein nitrogen (NPN) is relatively inexpensive, but the most common source of NPN, urea, is released too rapidly in the rumen, as shown in the chart,
to be well utilized in high roughage diets. This rapid release can cause ammonia toxicity in some instances. Due to Biuret's unique chemical properties, Biuret is released more gradually in the rumen compared to urea. Research shows Biuret has a nitrogen release curve similar to that of soybean meal. Biuret gives you a more cost effective protein source than urea and gives a higher level of safety against ammonia toxicity. Plus, the more gradual release of Biuret in the rumen gives better forage digestion throughout the day than a urea supplement only.
Why Use Multiple Source Proteins With Biuret In The Mintrate XL Tubs ?
The unique combination of either Biuret, distillers grains, condensed distillers solubles,
multiple source oil meals, and low level of urea, provides a constant, uniform release of ammonia nitrogen in the rumen to maximize rumen function. In addition, multiple source proteins provide available protein beyond the rumen (bypass) which enhances overall animal performance.
This group of protein sources, plus the balanced, essential minerals and vitamins, provides needed nutrients to rumen microorganisms for more efficient fiber digestion. The result is maximum forage intake and maximum rumen function, which results in optimum animal performance.
Why do Mintrate XL Tubs Have Different Protein Levels?
Mintrate XL Tubs have been formulated to provide approximately 0.3 lb of protein per head per day at the mid-range consumption target. Differences in forage quality and quantity make it necessary to have different products to achieve this target level. The chart below gives a general guide of when to use the different Mintrate XL Tub products:
Mintrate XL Tubs | 80 % | 60 % | 40 - 30 % | 20% |
Forage Quality | Poor | Low | Average | Good |
Crude Protein | <4 % | 4 - 6 % | 7 - 8 % | >8% |
TDN | <45 % | 45-50 % | 50-55 % | >55% |
Above all - test your forages to make sure you know what the animals need to achieve your feeding goals.
How Do Mintrate® XL Tubs Compare To Other Tubs On The Market?
Many tubs available utilize molasses as an energy source and urea as the major protein source. Molasses provides a source of sugar to cattle which may depress fiber digestion. Urea is broken down quickly in the rumen into ammonia. This quick ammonia release makes urea an inefficient source of ammonia for sustained maximum rumen function. In some cases, this quick ammonia release can cause ammonia toxicity.
Mintrate XL Tubs do not contain high levels of readily digestible sugars like the molasses based products. Mintrate XL Tubs utilize multiple source proteins, scientifically researched levels of base and trace minerals with vitamins, a low level of urea, and Biuret in almost all tubs to maximize forage digestion in the rumen which leads to optimum animal performance. No other tub provides this combination to give you the performance you want from your cattle.
